This Memorial is a sanctified place because it is here she - Sri Rangammal plunged into the fire to prove her purity, sanctity and the godliness of her femininity. This came to be later a glorified sanatorium for those devotees who come with unfulfilled wishes in their life and therein fall in to the merciful hands of the deity.
The statues were supposed to have been sculpted out of one single stone with no gap. The memorial is still unaltered and even the priest who performs the poojas has to bend down to reach the image
