Sri Rangammal's life in Pera Naidu's home proved to be full of disappointment and miseries. The mother-in-law was an extension of Konamma in every aspect .She spent quite a lot of time in the prayer room meditating on God. As a result, the path of loving surrender to the God's voluntary and spontaneous grace became evident she started seeking refuge in the God's redemptive grace. She underwent unspeakable suffering in order to secure God's blissful grace.

One afternoon Sri Rangammal took lunch to her husband who was in the fields. Catching a glimpse of her from the distance he ran and hid himself. She went in search of her husband and found him. Infuriated Pera Naidu thrashed her with the stick and sent her away bleeding. She went home silently.

When the mother -in-law enquired about her condition and plight Sri Rangammal had a different story to tell .She said that she fell on the thorn plant in the fields, when a snake tried to chase her. But ,the doubtful mother-in-law asked her to come to the fields and show her the snake. Sri Rangammal prayed on her way to the fields and she was fortunate enough when a snake came and circled the silently meditating Sri Rangammal. After coming around, it hide in the mud hive nearby. The villagers who gathered around, stood dumb founded and realised the mystical powers of Sri Rangammal. This is also one of the scenes God wanted to play in her life. Her mother-in-law repented for her mistake.
